SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!! Tuesday was the last day. I had to work yesterday, so today is my first official day of summer vacation. Unfortunatley, I have to start working summer school on Monday, but what are ya gonna do?

I certainly enjoyed my day off today. Got my hair cut, ran some errands, watched some TV, and vegged.

I talked to Rachel's teacher on Monday about the academic award thing. She explained it to me, and she agreed with me. The President's academic achievement award is given one time for good grades, and you get it in 5th grade, which Rachel did. This year it is for improvement in grades. You can't really improve on A's and A+'s, so she didn't get it. Her teacher thinks it sucks, and it should be called something else. At least my questions were answered.

Fun Day was not fun. It was hot, sweaty and miserable. I was so glad when it was over. Most people did not seem to enjoy it, so I'm not sure why they continue to do it.

Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Parsley - does anyone really cook with this stuff?!? what is the weirdest/funniest thing you ever did with the garnish on your plate at a restaurant. I never eat it in a restaurant, but I do cook with it occasionally. I have a couple of stews that I throw some in. I don't usually do anything weird with the garnish in a restaurant, just leave it on my plate. Boring, aren't I?

Twosome. Sage - to whom do you turn for advice? Well, it's usually my husband. If I need advice about him, it is usually one of my on-line friends or my sister Char. She is the least judgemental person I know.

Threesome. Rosemary and Thyme - what does the name "Rosemary" mean to you and to what time frame does the memory belong? There was a girl in my sister's class in school named Rosemary Short. She wasn't very popular, as I recall. I really have no other associations with the word/name rosemary. Once again, boring.

Well, I guess that's it for today. We have orthodontist tomorrow, and we are going to the Royals/Cardinals game tomorrow night. Should be fun! Smell ya later!

Happy Birthday to my hubby today!

This is the first chance I have had to be on the computer all week. I think I may finally be finished with summer school scheduling. I totaled up my hours yesterday. 95! That is on top of my regular work schedule. Boy is that summer school paycheck going to be sweet!

I really don't have a lot to report about things happening here. I have spent every night this week on the laptop. We have no plans for today, other that get some Chinese food for lunch and do the laundry. Doesn't that sound exciting?

Fun Day is tomorrow at school. I'm sure I will be spending most of the day outside, watching kids and getting wet. On the topic of school, they handed out academic achievement awards in Rachel's class, and for some reason she did not get one. I am very upset about this. Her report cards are all A's or A+'s so what is up with that? She got the fourth highest reading test score out of 800 students, beating many in the gifted program. Tomorrow a talk with her teacher is in order.
